The Outlander is a popular SUV model from Mitsubishi. The latest update on the Outlander is that it has been named the top-selling SUV in Australia for the first half of 2018. The Outlander has also been named as one of the best SUVs for fuel efficiency and safety, which makes it a great choice for families and professionals alike. The Outlander was first introduced in 1998 and has gone through several updates since then. The most recent update was in 2017, with some changes to its engine and transmission.

The company sells well around the world, but it has struggled over the past years in the U.S. market until this recent uptick. The company’s product line has seen plenty of improvements in recent years, which are the result of its parent company pairing with Nissan.

Mitsubishi has an extremely attractive and new Outlander that will soon be its top seller. That’s because it rides on the Nissan Rogue chassis and features Nissan’s powertrain. Owing to this, the car is unsurprisingly one of the best sellers in America.

The new Outlander offers a sophisticated yet powerful machine that can be customized for your needs. The Rogue Platform is the perfect way for you to upgrade without braking the bank and the three-tier headlights combined with slim modern slit headlights are bound to push Outlander ahead in sales in no time at all. If you’re looking for a sharp looking automobile, this is the one to get. The nose is powerful and modern while the profile is sleek and handsome.

When it comes to battling depreciation, more than a fancy exterior does the trick. You need to have solid mechanicals and great gas mileage for people to go out of their way for your car. The Outlander has all that, which is why people are going crazy about them.

This big SUV has the engine of a small car for maximum power and fuel efficiency. Accelerate into a highway is satisfying with the smooth acceleration and the CVT changing gears to imitate the sensation of a linear transmission.

The Outlander doesn’t weigh as much with the V6 gone and is great on gas. It can tow 2,000 pounds of trailer or small boat and it’ll save you money in the long run because it costs less to fill up. The EPA rates this at 24 mpg city and 30 highway, which is inline with my experience. With 80% of the time spent on the highway, I logged a total of 30.2 miles per gallon.

One of my favourite features is the 8.4 inches ground clearance and 6 different drive modes that provide a variety of driving experiences. The Tarmac, Snow, Mud & Gravel modes allow you to go off road without a problem while the eco mode will help save fuel when you don’t need sport performance. Sure, if you really need to. But most of the time, you’ll probably be just fine without it.

Handling is easy and just responsive enough to feel well suited the city or highway. The SUV is easy to keep in its lane on the highway, even on a blustery summer day. And while there is a wee bit of lean in turns, we never felt out of control or unsafe.

The Ride on the highway is comfortable and smooth, but can be a little stiff in cities. There is little flexing on bigger bumps, but some passing noise when driving over more higher-frequency surfaces.

Not all SUVs are shiny, with the more budget option being a good choice too. The test model we drove was Alloy Silver Metallic which had semi-aniline light gray leather seats. The door panels had diamond quilting for a finer feel and soft touch to boot. That and the double-pane side front windows help create a hushed interior with reduced road noise.

The dash and door tops are black with chrome-like touches on the door releases, trim and air vent covers. Black tweed-like trim with some carbon fiber effect tops door armrests and the console, in addition to more leather. The pedals are also leather covered, with a slight metallic accent for those who love shiny finishes external to the cabin.

The seats here are soft & well-cushioned. They’re great to sit on even during long drives! In addition, the front seats also have a heated function.

Front and second row space is generous, plus there’s a third row seat for to squeeze in shorter errands with babies sitting in the back. That third row tidily folds down into the cargo floor to create plenty of storage space and while row three may come in handy during longer trips around town. Loading cargo in the SEL is an easy affair because the power hatch near driver-side and remote seatback releases in back. Driver’s seat is also powered with two storage compartments.

  • The shift knob on the console is quite wide and includes a push button for Park. And there’s a wireless phone charger in front of that, which is under the center stack.
  • The infotainment screen is 9 inches instead of 8 and is easy to use when driving. The climate control has 2 large knobs to control air conditioning.

Considered short on conveniences and expensive, the Z5 offers a sunroof as part of one of its pricey packages.That adds a head-up display, rear side sun shades, a Bose premium audio system with 10 speakers and a heated steering wheel. It features Mitsubishi’s Mi-Pilot safety package as standard on all Outlanders. It has a lane-keeping system, a cruise control system and an energy-efficiency system.”

The SEL package also comes with a bunch of safety features, such as the high-beam head lamps that automatically turn on at night, blind-spot warning and lane change assist, front parking sensors and driver attention alert. Other good features include a rear cross traffic system that alerts you when someone is driving behind you erratically. The rear sensor system also has an emergency braking.

It’s nice to get good news from the marketing department. Mitsubishi has been keeping Outlander affordable and a great family-friendly small SUV. The ES starts at $27,290 including delivery, which is a high-value for this particular model. This SEL with AWD starts at $34,940.You don’t need to spend much up front for a quality new car these days.

The test unit added carpeted floor mats and a touch-up paint pen ($160), console tray mat ($45) and retractable cargo cover ($295) to the base price of $28,000, which resulted in the total price of $35,295. That’s a really bargain price for something that will last 10 years or 100,000 miles.

All of the trims for Outlander are standard with front-wheel-drive and AWD is a $2,000 option. For now, the only plug-in hybrid for Outlander is based on the previous model.

The car looks great in person and has a lot to offer. You can enjoy driving on the highway and still get good mileage. Additionally, it comes with backseat space for additional passengers when you need it. The interior is roomy and well-equipped. You’ll find a huge, high-resolution information screen, generous six drive modes for off-road driving, dual climate controls, power rear hatch and seats with quilted leather that are supportive and comfortable.

There are a lot of views on whether or not cars with sunroofs are safer. But other things like the ride and the console being too wide might be downers to some people’s liking. This car is made by Okazaki in Japan and it comes with 181 horsepower which means it will go pretty fast.
